You sparkle like stars in a cloudless sky, so high above me, completely out of my reach.  You shimmer like sunsets reflected on rolling waves, slipping between my fingers, impossible to keep.

Your smile is the beams of light between looming clouds, it’s a glimpse of hope, of happiness, of forgotten dreams laid to rest and woven within the seams of my dreamscapes turned night terrors.

You wandered my unconscious last night, but it wasn’t the fantasies that I fell asleep to. Instead it was you, dressed in black, staring through me as though I was the apparition.  Your smile was gone, the glistening in your harlequin eyes faded, you were simply a shell of who I once knew.

And now I’m nothing to you.
