I’ve been searching for the lost pieces of me that are scattered across the treacherous path stretching behind my weary feet.  There were pieces grasped by skeleton claws and rattling in empty, long forgotten skulls.  There were fragments floating out to sea from when currents ripped at me, tearing me to shreds.  There were threads woven through branches and bits intertwined with the leaves.  There were pieces buried, pieces nearly forgotten

But there’s still a piece missing.

It’s the piece you hold I can’t bare to take back.  It’s a piece I want you to save in your pocket to fold and fiddle with when the rain is falling and all you wish for is to kiss my lips amidst the raindrops.  I want you to pull on that piece so I feel the tug on my heart so I can fall apart all over again.

I want you to keep it, so if I find my way back to you, you’ll still remember how I feel in your arms, so I’ll still feel at home.
